WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR RE-ROOFING PROJECT
If you are like the most customers, this probably is your first experience with re-Roofing and your are wondering what to expect. Please be aware that Tejas Roofing’s goal is to re-roof your home without causing you any inconveniences, however because of the nature of the work, sometimes this is not possible. We are grateful for your patience and understanding, and apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
SCHEDULING: We will make every effort to schedule your re-roofing project at a time that is convenientto all parties involved. If you would like to request a specific date please call our office. Otherwise we will call to inform you of the start date. In the event we are unable to reach you we will leave a message on your answering machine, or with the person who answers the phone.
WEATHER CONDITIONS : Should your project be delayed due to bad weather we will try again on the next good weather day or will notify you of any scheduling changes. We are fully prepared in case the weather should turn bad during the project. The crews will seal your roof to prevent any water from entering your home, and we will resume work as soon as weather permits.
DELIVERY: If you have specified to our representative where you want the material delivered they will place it there. If your driveway has any conditionsor could get damaged by the weight of the delivery truck, we will need to be notified before delivery.Please notify us 24 hours prior to delivery of any changes to your delivery instructions.
COMMUNICATIONS: If you have any questions or problems during your roofing job please call the office immediately. Our office hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
SIGNS: Placing a sign on your property is the first step in re-roofing your home.
SHINGLES: There are usually two types of shingles sent to the job. One is a three-tab shingle that is generally used as the starter shingle. The other shingles sent for your project are the brand and style of shingles you requested to have installed.
WIRING AND AIR CONDITIONING: Electrical, telephone, security, air conditioning or any other service lines should not be installed directly underneath the roof decking or touching or lying against the roof decking in the attic areas. When we are nailing from above ,the roof nails will penetrate the decking and can puncture lines. If you are aware of any such lines, we must be notified immediately. We can not be responsible for the puncture of improperly installed lines.
LIGHT FIXTURES, MIRROWS AND PICTURES: These items can fall if not firmly attached to wall or ceiling. We suggest that you check to make sure they are secured. If plaster and occasionally small particles of the acoustic will fall where there are nail heads. Small cracks or crows feet will sometimes appear in older plaster. We cannot assume the responsibility of these items as a result of re-roofing.
TEAROFF: When necessary to remove your existing roof or roofs, debris will fall through the plywood, 1X8, or 1X6 decking joints into the attic, please take the necessary steps to protect any items you might have in the attic. We will cover any areas you indicate that require protection on the exterior of your premises and there will be a through clean up of them, however, we cannot assume the responsibility of these items as a result of re-roofing
ACCESS: Your contract price was figured utilizing access to the driveways for our trucks, as well as electricity. If exterior plugs are not available, please run a extension cord through a window or door.
Please advise Tejas Representative of any limitations your drive way might have. We will treat it as having no access to driveways or necessary precautions can be taken o avoid damages, but we cannot be responsible for damages to it.
TREES AND SHRUBS; AND SHRUBS: If you have low hanging branches over the roof or to close to the work area, some trimming may be necessary. Our men will only cut those limbs that limit our ability to do efficient and professional job. You may prefer to have the tree or trees trimmed by professionals before we begin our job.
CHIMNEY FLASHING AND COUNTERFLASHING : When removing the step flashing around the perimeter of the chimney and the cricket Tejas will replace the step flashing at no charge to the customer. After removal we see rotten decking, 2X4 bracing, or brick damage additional charges will need to be made.
SOLAR PANEL – SKYLIGHTS: Arrangements to remove and replace solar panels are the sole responsibility of the owner unless otherwise stated in your contract. We cannot be responsible for old or inadequate sky lights breaking. If you decided to use inadequate sky lights you will be forfeiting our warranty against leaks. Tejas Roofing will be please to have new sky lights custom made or if desired, we
can remove the old ones.
ANTENNAS AND SATELITE DISH: These two appliances will need to be removed from the roof in order to install the shingles. We will reset antennas or TV dish as it was when we removed it, back in the same screw holes in the same direction it was in. However there is a chance you will need to call the cable guy. Usually, when we set the dish back in the same position there is no need to call cable.
VENTS: Upon completion of your job please check the interior connections of your furnace and hot water heater vent pipes if you are unable to do this ask our foreman to do this its our job.
LEFT OVER MATERIALS: Our proposals are based on complete job. Any left over materials remain the property of the company. We customarily over ship a quantity to insure adequate supplies for our crews.
PAYMENT : All jobs are due upon completion. At this time Tejas expects to receive payment in full from you unless other arrangements are made in writing directly with the administrative office of Tejas Roofing and Contracting. Please make arrangements for funds to be available at this time. For your protection make checks payable to Tejas Roofing and Contracting. Tejas will not honor any payments or issue any warranties if payment is made to anyone other than Tejas Roofing and Contracting.
WARRANTY: Your new roof will be covered by two warranties.

WORKMANSHIP: this is our warranty: it covers the actual work, but not the materials. The specifics of this warranty are outlined on the contract that you signed and in the warranty form. Our warranty is 10 years on complete roof replacement. Warranty is on chimney, vertical walls, vents, ridge vents, but not lead vents squirrels have damaged or water heater or ac vents wind has moved or broken the collar
seals which are caulked. - MATERIAL: This warranty is issued by the shingle manufacturer and covers the material that was used. These warranties will be registered with the manufacturer and should be received 3 weeks after registration.
REFFERRAL BONUS: We offer referral incentive program to our customers. If you refer us to another customer, we will give you $100.00 referral fee after their job is completed and paid in full. In order to validate your referral fee, we require that the customer you refer mention your name upon initial contact.
NOTE AFTER YOUR ROOF IS INSTALLED SHOULD YOU NOTICE A PROBLEM PLEASE DON’T ESATATE TO CALL US IMMEDIATLIEY . TEJAS ROOFING DOES NOT GET MANY CALLS ABOUT LEASKS FROM OUR ROOFS. WHEN WE DO, WE TAKE THEM VERY SERIOUSLY!
SHOULD THE LEAK BE THE FAULT OF TEJAS WORKMANSHIP WE WILL REPAIR YOUR SHEET ROCK AS WELL. HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE A LEAK AND WAIT TO CALL ,WE WILL KNOW… HOW YOU ASK? A NEW LEAK IS NOT BLACK IT TAKES AWHILE, 6 MONTHS OR MORE, FOR THIS TO OCCUR… AND TEJAS WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LEAK THAT IS NOT CALLED IN TO US IN THE FIRST MONTH. THEREFORE SHOULD THE SHEET ROCK BE FALLING DOWN OF BLACK MOLD HAS FORMED WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE IF IT HAS NOT BE HANDELED IN A PROACTIVE & RESPONSIBLE MANNER
